On my walk to school I checked my email and twitter on my phone. Then I looked up and saw two men walking toward me–both looking at their phones. I immediately put mine away.
I walked slowly, patiently, peacefully. I felt the breeze on my face and the warmth of the sun. I heard the rhythm of my boots as they touched the pavement. The man cleaning the sidewalk with the most brilliant smile said, “How are you?” I said, “Good, thank you. How are you?” He said, “blessed.”
Blessed. And I almost missed it all.

What a lovely gem of a blog post! It’s amazing how much more beautiful life is when there’s not a phone blocking the view.

Exactly! I’ve been working on putting it away for a while now. It makes a huge difference.

Blessed indeed! Great reminder for us all. (I’ve started not taking my phone out with me during my morning dog walks. It’s a nice, different feeling.)
